Scoop.it Assignment

I have used the article "Is Google Making Us Stupid" to create a scoop.it on how technology has changed how we as individuals, students, working professionals, and active learners/readers interact with written media. Students turn to technology instead of libraries over the last quarter century to answer research questions, inquiries on literature, current events and even replacing dictionaries as a whole.
When it comes to exams in grade school, students are now able to use a digital dictionary function while typing their essay on a computer instead of pen and paper, stationary booklet, heavy dictionary and a time limit.
The way in which I found the articles in my scoop.it was to search key words such as "technology in schools", "are books/dictionaries still being used", "how technology has changed the way in which we learn", "downsides of technology in schools", etc. I made sure to take note of how we as individuals communicate with one another now that social media and texting is the easiest form of communication between humans.
Another thing I believe in that I don't think was mentioned in the articles I added is how simple it is to communicate with teachers or professors when having difficulties with an assignment. While I believe physical social interactions have decreased since social media has been introduced to society, I do think however that the way in which we communicate with class-mates and persons of authority (school, work) has simplified significantly.
I believe that my assignment has full coverage on the topic as I made sure to add both positive and negative aspects of the conversation made around how Google has changed us. Working "smarter, not harder" has become so easy over the last 25 years, giving inquirers instant gratification and a solution to their problem.
I think that I will absolutely use scoop.it for longer academic assignments where I need to research, find quotes, and keep myself organized. I think its a great tool to use when multiple sources are needed. The little insight blurb we can add to the link can be used to add quotes, cite sources, and again, remain organized.
